Abstract

By proposing a semio-discursive analysis of the use of memes on the Internet, this article explores

their plurisemiotic nature, combining textual and visual elements to convey messages and emotions.

Thus, memes are not limited to humor but also serve as powerful tools for the circulation of emotions

and ideas in both digital and non-digital contexts, from a post-digital perspective. Consequently,

memes are analyzed as hypernarrative objects that transcend discursive genres and stimulate user

engagement on Web 2.0. To capture their particularities, we also introduce the concept of 'puppeteer

enunciation,' where the enunciator uses a character or narrative scenario to express a message and

convey social representations.
