In this contribution, I interpret an individual reaction to the marking-up of remarks presenting local linguistic particularities in minority-language media. More specifically this involves the use of (sic) as well as various metadiscursive markings such as "he said to us with his charming Acadian accent." Systematic research in a media corpus shows that these practices, while not very common, do occur. These practices are undoubtedly part of well-established professional techniques. Nevertheless, they can be insensitive to the community they serve, as shown by the individual response I take as a starting point. I propose that these practices can be seen as a form of linguistic arrogance (Messaoudi 2021) constituting yet another linguistic micro-aggression (Razafimandimbimanana and Wacalie 2020) faced by linguistic minorities.
