Within an interactionist approach, different forms of scaffolding provided by adults in interaction with children have been identified such as requests, repetitions, reformulations/recasts or instructive questions. Recasts of child's utterances by the adult contribute to language development of children with or without language disorders. The aim of the present longitudinal study is to observe the characteristics of recasts, as linguistic scaffolding, provided by speech and language therapists to children with Specific Language Impairment in remediation sessions. Recasts are considered dialogic and useful to give assistance to the child since they may modify and guide his language. This process of scaffolding is set up through the use of a semiotic system by another.Téléchargements
